You are most welcome to come to this annual memorial service, address and wreath laying at Llansantffraed Church – the spiritual home of poet Henry Vaughan. This year’s speaker, Peter Pike, was Archdeacon of Montgomery in the Diocese of St Asaph until his recent retirement. He is a member of The Vaughan Association. The formal memorial evensong and wreath laying lasts about 75 minutes. The evensong service is led as usual by the choir of St Mary’s Priory Church, Abergavenny and lasts about 1 hour. Tea and cakes will be available from then (those not joining the wreath laying) at the Henry Vaughan Visitor Area in the church until 4.45pm.
Llansantffraed Church is 6 miles south east from Brecon on the A40 opposite the turning to Talybont-on-Usk. Post code for Satnav – LD3 7YF. There are three lay-bys off the A40 for parking. Most vehicles will need to park in one of the two lay-bys (on either side of the A40) to the north (Brecon side) of the church. The third lay-by directly alongside the church is reserved parking space. Please contact Mervyn Bramley (t: 01874 665267; e: firstname.lastname@example.org) if you need to reserve a parking place close to the church.
